In the circulated CCTV footage, the victim can be seen enduring multiple lashings, crying out in pain and pleading for mercy. This incident was perpetrated by a mother identified as DTN, aged 38, in the Medan Sunggal district of Medan City. Medan's police chief, Kombes Teddy Marbun, stated that the victim, a 6-year-old boy named KGJ, was not only whipped but also subjected to stomping on his stomach by the suspect. The case came to light when the victim confided in his tutor about the abuse inflicted by his mother. Kombes Teddy described the child's condition as alarming, with bruises covering his body and his back showing signs of swelling from the beatings. According to law enforcement, this act of violence was triggered because the child had lost a school sticker. Kombes Teddy also noted that DTN has been divorced from her husband for four years, after which she has taken care of their two children, VC (11) and KGJ (6). Due to the brutal nature of the abuse, DTN now faces a potential prison sentence of up to five years.
